Hello everyone! I am blessed to have garnered enough interest from anyone to have you here reading this first blog. Blogging is not typically something I would do, but in the spirit of transparency, I figured it may be a good idea. From these blogs, I will provide updates on the organization, insights I've gained from the experience, and anything else that I think might deem a blog post. I do not intend to post daily or anywhere near a frequent amount. That being said, this is my universal gateway to give anyone who is following the organization an update or a reason to be excited. There are so many reasons to be excited, and for that reason, even an unnatural blogger like myself can find it easy to share all the bits of this organization.
As of writing this, I am still in the process of filing for 501c3 status. The trouble we've run into is not the filing itself, but the cost of filing at $600. As of now, I have paid all expenses from my own pocket, but I cannot afford that price tag on my own, which is why I decided to move up the dates for fundraising. It can be confusing to distinguish the fundraising we do for our organization and the fundraising we do for other charities, despite our attempts to make it crystal clear, but I have since remedied this by naming the fundraisers we do for other charities as, alius fundraising. alius means other in latin.
What's nice about TDI is that we have very few expenses and can operate mostly on a volunteer basis. When planning future fundraisers (for our charity partner), most of what we want to do can be done without an extensive amount of money. Our soteriology has rested on how we can substitute high costs with dedication and hard work. Operating on a low budget without remuneration is nearly the premise that TDI has been built on, and I know that myself and my team are excited to take on the challenge.
